9/23 - Food Critic Panel

Share The Loaves: A Community Discussion Event Series

Monday, Sept 23

7-7:45pm - pizza & drinks for sale // 8pm - discussion begins

The Mill, SF CA

Food critics help us understand the food on our plate and the cooks in our kitchens. They can highlight the countless ways that food connects us all, but they can also provide checks and balances in an incredibly competitive industry. So what happens when one of the world’s leading food cities (that’s us, SF) loses almost all of its critics?

Former restaurant critics Rachel Levin (of Eater), Luke Tsai (of the East Bay Express) and Josh Sens (of San Francisco Magazine) join us for a lively discussion on their careers covering the The Bay Area restaurant and food scene. Our panel discusses their perspective on restaurant culture, how the local food world has changed, and why San Francisco has only one critic at a major newspaper for the city.

This is a ticketed event, and 100% of ticket sales will be donated to an organization of our speakers’ choosing. Our first two events sold out, please pre-purchase tix online!

Share The Loaves is an ongoing community discussion series organized by George McCalman and Josey Baker. It's an attempt to build connections and foster conversation among our Bay Area community, and to bring us all a little closer. Hope to see you there.
